Social Assist FAQ
Can Sprout Add People To My Facebook?
Yes! Facebook doesn't have page logins like other social media platforms. To access a Facebook page, you have to connect that page to someone's individual Facebook account (like how we connected Caitlyn's account to all the pages).
Oftentimes this is a personal Facebook account set up under a personal email. Don't worry, no one will see your account connected to the page or have access to any of your personal information. This will just allow you to access the Facebook page through your own personal Facebook login.
To set this up, this is what we need from you:
Facebook Profile URL: Login to Facebook, click on your profile picture at the top right, and copy that URL
Email you use to login to Facebook with

Instagram Is Claimed by Another Account: You will need to do a hard reset where you make the Instagram personal and then make it professional again. This will release it from whatever account.

I Don’t Have Access To The Page To Provide Sprout With Access, What Do I Do?
Sprout has limited options here, but here are some options you can take:
Find who has access and try to get those people to add them. Here are helpful tutorial videos:

My Page Is Owned By Another Company Or Random Account, Now What?
You see a random page owner with a name you don’t recognize OR it’s the name of the community:
Sometimes the property manager accidentally sets up a business account and claims the page. Below are some steps you can try:
Try to log in using the property or manager email. They won’t know the password, but they may be able to do a forgot password prompt and then recover it or set up a new one or reset the email to a new one.
They can try reaching out to the person they think set it up. Give them these directions on how to remove themselves: https://watchyourbusinesssprout.wistia.com/medias/rshzwzyb1b
If that doesn’t work, they can try to appeal to Facebook: https://www.watchyourbusinesssprout.com/sprout-marketing-blog/how-to-gain-access-to-a-facebook-or-instagram-page
You see another management company:
Oftentimes when a community changes hands, the old management company won’t release the page completely from their business manager. See next question on how to transfer.

Have them give you full page access (selecting Admin or Adding under People with Facebook Page Access) Video tutorial you can send here: https://watchyourbusinesssprout.wistia.com/medias/8b2055noa7
On your end you will need to accept. If they are on the old page experience, you can go to THIS QUICK LINK, and if they are on the new page experience then you can go to the Facebook page URL and you will see a button between the cover photos and posts. It's crucial to accept the invite and make sure you have access before you move on to the next step.
Once you have access, then they can simply remove themselves from the page. Video tutorial you can send them here: https://watchyourbusinesssprout.wistia.com/medias/rshzwzyb1b?wtime=428s
Once they remove themselves then you should be able to claim the page as normal. Again, be sure you have access to the page before they remove themselves.

We do not currently run Facebook or Instagram ads at this time for our clients. We do have a tutorial video here: https://watchyourbusinesssprout.wistia.com/medias/96v8fkmibu
Note if you run into issues there is not much Sprout can do on our end. We did round up a few helpful links you can look into to help resolve your issues.

You may be getting rejected because you are not selecting the special ads category for housing. See screenshot. Plus, here are some tips from Facebook on that front: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/298000447747885
Sometimes I've seen ads get rejected because the image has too much text in it.
You may be getting rejected because of your targeting on demographics. Facebook is really cracking down on this for housing which is why they make you select the special ads categories. Do not target by any demographic info like age, gender, anything that falls under the fair housing classes. You CAN target by interest and location. For example, people in a 10 mile radius of the community that like specific businesses around the area (you can see if they pop up in your targeting), swimming if you have a pool, pets, etc. Interests based off your amenities or surrounding area. Instagram Is Connected But Not Showing Up In The Meta Business Suite, Says Review Connection, Or Shows But Won’t Allow You To Push Posts There.
When you create an Instagram account and connect it to Facebook, make sure your Instagram is in professional mode. This way when you connect it to Facebook you have access to all the features including using Facebook to push posts to Instagram. Here is a video tutorial that walks through these steps: https://watchyourbusinesssprout.wistia.com/medias/bm1sacz8vg
Note: If the page is owned by another account, then it’s crucial that the business owner account takes these steps noted in the video. Others can try, but it will now allow them to complete the steps successfully.
Posts Aren’t Showing On My Instagram Page Even Though It’s Connected
This happens when the Instagram account isn’t logged into in a while. Try to log into the Instagram account directly either on your desktop or on the app. Then try pushing the post again.
Are Sprout And Sprout Social The Same?
SproutSocial is actually a different company. They are a tech/software company for social media management. Many use us and SproutSocial in tandem.
Sprout Marketing: We are a company that is exclusive to the Multifamily Industry. For apartment communities, we are posting on Facebook/Instagram for you with crafted content tailored to your apartment industry with a method we have created for the apartment industry. Our membership website that y'all have access to has ideas, resources, and training tailored for specific apartment management needs.
SproutSocial: It's a social media software tool. They make it easy to post to multiple social platforms from one place and analyze the results. They are used by a wide variety of industries for that reason, but they are not posting content to your page they are just more of the system Alex was posting through. You need someone on your end to actually write and post the content because it's not doing that part for you, just giving you an avenue to do that more efficiently.
