THREE MICRO-EVENTS USING INSTAGRAM
WHAT IS A MICRO-EVENT?
Check out Barbara’s recent training for events to kick off the year here. So many of these events can be hosted year-round! Read: There are no limits to the amount of amazing your team and community can be this year.
1. SPRING CLEANING CHALLENGE
We are all spending a lot more time at home these days and if you haven’t done it already, it’s a good time to clean and organize your space. Every resident plays a valuable role in keeping our community in tip-top shape. An easy way to encourage residents is with a fun little challenge. Pick a new challenge each day for at least 5 days.
2. MICRO-EVENT: NO-MESS ART IDEA
Sometimes we just need to get creative, without the task of cleaning up a huge mess afterward. Post this fun no-mess painting idea on your Instagram Reels and let the creativity flow. (Members: Log in to download the completed IG Reel and post today!)
3. MICRO-EVENT: EAT MORE SPINACH
March is National Nutrition Month and March 26 is National Spinach Day. But honestly, can’t we all eat more spinach throughout the whole year? Help your residents eat more spinach with tips on how to incorporate more of it into our diets!
Members: Download our How to Sneak In Spinach pre-done video today (search spinach). It’s perfect if you’re wanting to provide real content (think education) to support the lifestyle of your residents.
TWO BUDGET-FRIENDLY TO-GO EVENTS
4. Cereal To-Go Event
Purchase single-serve cereal boxes and grab some milk on your next trip to the store.
Tip: Grab a few different types of milk: Almond, Whole, 2%, etc. You can buy the individual cartons or buy a few gallons and have them in beverage dispensers.
Pair the cereal boxes with a disposable spoon and a flyer and BOOM! You’ve just made someone’s morning!
(PS: We had a ton of fun putting these together for a Sprout Employee Party!)
Sprout Members: Log in and pick your event flyers and graphics! We have so many styles to choose from! (Just search: cereal)
5. Girl Scout Cookies To-Go
“I’ll just have one Samoa,” said no one ever. We don’t always break our healthy eating habits…but when we do, it’s for Girl Scout Cookies!
Imagine a long day working from home (possibly while also homeschooling children) and you get a social media alert that your community team is having a Girl Scout Cookies to-go event! The squeal of happiness is real and you just made their day!
3 VIRTUAL EVENTS TO HOST
6. Basketball Watch Party
Get your residents together virtually to watch the games! Post stories and/or polls on Instagram that ask residents to rate everything from their favorite plays to their favorite go-to game day snacks.
7. “Guess How Many!” Virtual Event
This is hands-down one of the easiest and most popular event ideas in our Sprout community! We re-invent our “Guess How Many” events constantly for our members using all sorts of seasonal designs and different options.
8. A Virtual Scavenger Hunt
A virtual scavenger hunt is a super fun way to connect with your residents!
Announce on social media that you’ll be hosting a Virtual Scavenger Hunt.
Have residents take pictures of the scavenger hunt items and tag your community.
Keep your residents engaged throughout the hunt with our Instagram Stories and sharing their photo submissions!
TWO LUXE EVENT IDEAS
Virtual Beer To-Go
Let your residents sip back and relax at home with this grab n’ go beer event!
Announce and invite residents to RSVP through IG, FB, or email.
Pick out a fun selection of beers. We recommend having a good combination of pale ales, IPA’s, ciders, etc. Let your residents select one beer of their choice or a full six-pack, depending on your budget.
Get cardboard six-pack holders with handles to make transporting them back to their homes easy.
LIVE MUSIC OR COMEDY SHOW
Just because we have to be 6ft away from each other doesn't mean we can't still party. Bring your community together from the comfort of their personal balcony or patio (or the community lawn) with live music or a comedy show.
