5 TAKEAWAYS WE LEARNED FROM ANNE

There is always so much we takeaway from any interaction we have with Anne. Her wealth of experience is unmatched, and she always is able to get to the root of the problem you are facing and how to easily tackle it. Here are some of the things that we thought were mind blowing.

apartment hiring

75% of people leave because of another person.

Whenever you are in a tricky spot, remember to take a deep breath and try to walk in the other person’s shoes.

You don’t want to be the reason that someone decides to make their home somewhere else.

Be responsible for the way we make others feel.

We all want attention from others, and Anne let us know that our egos do get involved when we aren’t getting that attention we crave.

The big question she asked us to think about is, “What do people say when they walk away?”

All criticism is destructive.

Anne said there are only constructive suggestions or ideas, but there is no such thing as constructive criticism. She said ALL criticism is destructive.

It’s better to
be kind than
to be right.

Who else has a hard time with this? Anne reminded us that it benefits us to get along with people.

Sometimes we need to swallow our pride, and find common ground with our residents, our team, our superiors, and even our friends and family.

Don’t be part of the problem, be the solution.

These are the words that we strive to live by.
Things happen, and although it may not be
our fault, it is our problem.

The best way to address a problem is with kindness and empathy. You can tell your residents, you may not be able to do everything, but you will do everything you can.
