Resident Events That Deserve Their Own Red Carpet [Plus Super Bowl Fun]!
As this new year is getting into full swing, you might be looking to ramp up your resident interaction with some fun, out-of-the-box events. Luckily for you, we knew you would be, so we’ve pulled one of our favorite events for this time of year - viewing parties!
When you have such big events like the Grammys (January 26th), the Oscars (February 9th), and the Super Bowl (February 2nd), you don’t want to miss the chance to get your residents together for them. After all, they’re probably already interested in one or all of those events so throw in some free food and drinks and you’ve got them there!
If you want to throw an awards show watch party that deserves it’s own award…
First and foremost, promote that sucker.
Let your residents know that you know they want to watch the awards show and you want to make it a fun experience for them. They’ll appreciate the fact that you take the time to understand what they’re interested in and that you’re offering them free food and drinks to be a part of it.
Be sure to promote wherever they’ll see it - in elevators, in the resident lounge area, in the office, in their mailboxes.
Don’t be afraid to get creative either! Grab some sidewalk chalk and create your own ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ letting them know about the event.

Since you’re going the awards show route, keep it classy folks.
Black and gold colors for the theme, throw in a little glitter and sparkle where you can, and create your own red carpet walk for your residents, complete with a photo op spot where they can take pictures. (Don’t forget to create a hashtag for the event and encourage them to use it when they post on social media.)
You might even make it a black tie event to make it extra classy! Everyone likes a reason to get dressed up every now and then.
Make it a little more interesting and give out ‘best dressed’ awards to residents who go all out!
If you wanted to throw in some games you could have the residents make guesses on winners of the different categories and those who guess correctly will win a prize!
Now switching gears to the Super Bowl watch party…
If there was ever a time to go big or go home when it comes to an event, it would be a Super Bowl watch party!
First things first though, PROMOTE. Post invitation flyers anywhere and everywhere, post on social media, and you can use the sidewalk chalk promotion idea here too (it’s a super cheap option and a fun way to get residents’ attention).
